Puerto Rico: World Class Travel and no passport needed!

This post brought to you by Puerto Rico, The All-Star Island. All opinions are 100% mine.

In a previous life, every few months I got the travel bug. Between the time that I graduated high school and the birth of Penelope I've visited Mexico, the Dominican Republic, cruised in Europe, the hubs and I flew to Colorado for the famed Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and we've road tripped down the West Coast down to California, west to Montana and up north to Canada multiple times.
Once we decided to start a family, we took our last big hurrah (the babymoon cruise to Europe) and since then it's been mostly camping and road trips for this frugal minded (and proud of it!) single income family.
But that travel bug never goes away, it just goes to sleep. Every once in a while I like to plan out dream vacations (a part of my somewhat dormant Wanderlust Series) and today I want to share a new wanderlust of mine: Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico is calling my name because there is just so much to see on this beautiful island.  The mama in me will definitely appreciate the over 270 miles of coastline (read: relaxing on a beach!) and the adverturer at heart will jump for joy at the excursions available.

The top beaches in Puerto Rico include Luquillo Beach, Pine Grove Beach and BoquerĂ³n Beach.

And maybe one of these days, when the kids are old enough, we will take the road less traveled and go exploring in the Cueva Ventana caves, which translates into Window Cave.

El Yunuqe is also the US's only rain forest under the National Park Service and has gorgeous waterfalls and guided tours available.

And of course you can't talk about travel without talking about the food. Historic San Juan has tons of great restaurants to try and you can't miss a tour of the Bacardi Rum Factory, even if you aren't a huge liquor drinker. Click Here

Puerto Rico is an easy travel destination for Americans because there is no passport required to travel there and no worries about foreign currency. Live your own 5-star vacation story in Puerto Rico. Visit seepuertorico.com and see how easy it is to plan your own 5-star vacation story in Puerto Rico.

What would you want to do if you visited Puerto Rico?
Relax on the beach, go caving or be a history buff and check out old San Juan?

  1. I've never been to Puerto Rico myself but it seems like it would be a great place for a tropical getaway without the hassle of overseas travel since it's a U.S. territory.
